일본 국회의 권력 구도는 변하고 있습니다. 그러나 그것이 일본 사회의 변화를 의미하지는 않습니다. 여의도의 정치가 흔들려도 한국 사회가 달라지지 않는 것과 같습니다. 정치의 중심이 움직여도 시민의 의식이 따라오지 않으면 변화는 껍데기에 불과합니다. 버크가 말한 것처럼, 정치 제도는 사회의 도덕적 기반 위에 서야만 합니다. 일본 국회의 권력 재편이 아무리 요란해도, 시민의 삶이 변하지 않는다면 그것은 단지 권력의 순환일 뿐입니다. 진정한 변화는 제도의 교체가 아니라 시민의 자각에서 비롯됩니다.
The Change in Japan’s Parliament Does Not Change Society
The power structure of Japan’s Parliament is shifting. Yet this does not mean that Japanese society itself is changing. It is the same as how political upheaval in Yeouido does not necessarily alter Korean society. Even if the political center moves, change remains superficial unless citizens’ consciousness follows. As Edmund Burke once said, political institutions must rest upon the moral foundation of society. No matter how loudly the reshuffling of power in Japan’s Parliament is announced, if people’s lives remain the same, it is nothing more than a rotation of authority. True transformation begins not with institutional reform, but with the awakening of citizens.
