인간 사회에서 갈등은 피할 수 없는 일입니다. 중동 지역의 분쟁 소식은 더 이상 낯설지 않고, 그 일상 속에서 시민들은 또 불안한 하루를 살아갑니다. 그러나 국가 간 전쟁은 성숙한 정치 지도자들의 협상을 통해 충분히 피할 수 있는 선택지입니다. 영토에서의 물리적 피해는 어떤 경우에도 최소화되어야 하며, 기술이 고도화된 오늘날에는 그 책임이 더 무겁습니다. 국민의 대표인 정치인들이 원하지 않는 전쟁을 결정하는 일은, 그 대가가 너무 크기에 더욱 비극적입니다.
Another War, a Failure of Politics
Conflict has always been part of human society. News of violence in the Middle East no longer surprises us, and citizens there must again endure daily life under fear. But wars between nations are not inevitable—they can and should be avoided through mature, enlightened leadership and diplomacy. Physical damage to territory must be minimized under all circumstances, especially in an age of advanced warfare technologies. When political leaders, as representatives of the people, initiate unwanted wars, the cost is too high—and the tragedy all the more profound.
