어쩌면 가족보다 더 오랜 시간을 함께 보낸 친구들과 헤어진다는 것은 참으로 슬픈 일입니다. 가족보다 더 많은 비밀을 나누고, 서로에 대해 더 잘 알고 있는 존재와의 이별은 언제나 아쉬움을 남깁니다.

In the gentle warmth of the spring breeze, students dressed in pink-toned outfits and traditional hakama gather in small groups with their friends, chatting and laughing. It is a truly dazzling season.
March in Japan is a time when many farewells take place. High school students part ways with friends they have spent years with, and university students say goodbye to their lives as students as they graduate. Like cherry blossoms that bloom brilliantly only to fall quickly, these farewells are also vivid yet fleeting moments in life.

This song is often heard in Japan during the graduation season. It is also a song that feels particularly fitting while walking through Japanese streets just as the cherry blossom buds are about to bloom.
Parting with friends we may have spent more time with than even our families can be deeply saddening. Saying goodbye to people who know our secrets, who understand us better than most, inevitably leaves a lingering sense of regret.
Compared with school life in Korea, high school life in Japan sometimes feels like a period where youth is experienced a little more fully. Of course, not every school is the same, but there is still a sense of human warmth that remains in society. Perhaps that is why so many songs are written about longing for those days and the bittersweet feeling of parting from friends.
It makes me wonder whether I also had such a time in my life. There was indeed a period when I would talk with friends about nothing in particular. We were simply people who understood each other, even without words.
