그 이유는 인간이 하나님의 형상을 닮은 존재이기 때문입니다. 인간의 얼굴 속에는 단순한 생물학적 구조를 넘어선 신비가 있습니다. 서로의 존재를 통해 위로받고, 이해받고, 사랑을 주고받는 일은 그 자체로 창조주의 질서에 순응하는 행위입니다.
미학적으로 아름다운 것에는 서로를 끌어당기는 성질이 있습니다. 인간이 혼자서 살아갈 수 없는 이유는 단순히 외로움 때문이 아니라, 존재의 본질이 관계를 향하고 있기 때문입니다. 가족을 이루고, 사회를 형성하며, 국가를 세우는 일은 인간 안에 내재된 자연스러운 질서의 발현입니다.
아버지가 아이의 사진을 보고 느끼는 행복은 돈이 주는 만족감과는 비교할 수 없습니다. 그것은 생명의 순환 속에서 자신이 이어지고 있다는 감각, 곧 ‘존재의 확장’에서 오는 깊은 기쁨입니다.
이제 우리는 왜 결혼해야 하며, 왜 자녀를 낳아야 하는가를 진지하게 성찰해야 합니다. 그것은 단순한 사회적 의무나 개인의 선택의 문제가 아니라, 인간이 자연법에 따라 살아가는 존재라는 전제에서 출발해야 합니다. 인류는 언제나 사랑을 통해 생명을 이어왔고, 그 속에서 문명을 발전시켜왔습니다.
그러므로 사랑하고 가정을 이루는 일은 곧 인간이 하나님의 창조 질서에 응답하는 행위입니다.
“하나님이 자기 형상 곧 하나님의 형상대로 사람을 창조하시되 남자와 여자를 창조하시고, 그들에게 복을 주시며 생육하고 번성하라 하시니라.” 창세기 1장 27–28절
The greatest happiness comes from people.
This is because human beings are made in the image of God. Within every human face lies a mystery that transcends biological structure. To comfort one another, to be understood, and to give and receive love are acts of obedience to the Creator’s divine order.
Aesthetically, beauty possesses a power of attraction. The reason humans cannot live alone is not merely loneliness but the fact that our very nature is oriented toward relationship. Forming families, building societies, and establishing nations are natural expressions of the order embedded within humanity.
The happiness a father feels when looking at his child’s photo cannot be compared to the satisfaction that money provides. It is the joy that arises from the awareness of continuity within the cycle of life—the deep joy of existence expanding beyond oneself.
We must now reflect seriously on why we marry and why we bring children into the world. It is not merely a social duty or a personal preference, but an expression of our nature as beings who live according to natural law. Humanity has always carried on life through love, and in doing so, built civilization itself.
Therefore, to love and to form a family is to respond faithfully to the divine order established by God.
“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and increase in number.’” Genesis 1:27–28
